Open Positions:

I am looking for motivated students who are interested in research in theoretical and computational Biophysics. Our aim is to study biological systems by developing and applying the methods of  physics. Our other general aim is to study structural and functional properties of macromolecules using all atomistic molecular dynamics simulations and various theoretical methods. Areas of interest include DNA nanomechanics, single molecule biophysics, DNA-protein interaction, molecular motors, genetic motif etc. For a detailed understanding about our research is to look at our recent publications.

Ph.D. aspirants having their own national (e.g. CSIR/UGC/GATE/DBT/DST INSPIRE) or International fellowship are welcome to enquire for position(s) by sending their CV to ashok.garai@lnmiit.ac.in and/or apply directly through Doctoral program admission web portal of the LNMIIT. Applications for Ph.D. Programme are invited throughout the year. Admission to the Ph.D. Programme is carried out twice every year, once during June-July and the next during November-December period. Financial assistance is available from the Institute to the meritorious students in the form of teaching and research assistantship as per Institute norms, for those candidates who may not have any external fellowship. Please note that for this position(s) extensive prior knowledge of biology is not required but a passion for research in theoretical and computational biological physics is essential.
